Kerry Segel,  RPCV- Iran 1969-1971, taught TEFL in Khonsar, Iran. Following his Peace Corps experience, he spent an additional five years teaching English at universities in Iran. He completed his graduate education at the University of Texas at Austin (M.A. in Foreign Language Education, Ph.D. in Education). From 1986 to 2021 he taught English at Saginaw Valley State University in Michigan, specializing in teaching English as an additional language (TESOL) and cross-cultural education, retiring as professor emeritus.  He was a founding member of the local Persian literary society. He is currently a board member of the Peace Corps Iran Association.
